Como Park Zoo-Saint Paul, MN

On our second day in Minnesota, Desiree and Ryan took us to the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in Saint Paul, MN. Look how beautiful these four kids are. Ryan is so little compared to my kiddos.

Having my eldest sitting next to her eldest was kind of surreal!

The Como Park Zoo is a medium sized zoo and it is charming! It covers 384 acres with about 1,300 animals. (Note: For size comparison on all zoos the North Carolina Zoo is large, the San Diego Zoo is medium, Utah's Hogle Zoo is small and Zoo Boise is tiny.) This zoo is free to the public, but the suggested donations of $2 for adults and $1 for children is welcomed. The Zoo and Conservatory are connected. Here is a map of Como Park Zoo and Conservatory.

First stop was the Primates and there are quite a few. Little Ryan enjoyed them. He's checking out the orangatan lounging in the straw.

The kids always look for an animal that reminds them of Daddy especially since he was unable to come with us. We missed him so much, but they were thrilled to find his animal doppelganger. Here's Hotch as a gorilla.

My kids thought the baby orangutan outside was so entertaining.

Como Town is a small amusement park connected to the Como Park Zoo. My kids really wanted to go over there, but we'll save that for another day.

There were quite a few African animals in the African Hoofed Stock exhibit. Their habitats were cool because they were really open. You could watch them from many different places. It was really hot and humid so there weren't very many animals out in the Large Cats exhibit.

The polar bears were not active, but it was cool seeing this one up close.

The brown bears were really active and beautiful. They were fun to watch.

Braxton enjoyed the penguins, but their habitat was really small and sad.

I felt bad for this seal because it was a really sad habitat. Delaney loved it.

These kids are the coolest!

We brought food for lunch and since it was so darn hot I got everyone icees. Desiree is the loveliest mom and I loved watching her mother sweet Ryan. He is such a good boy and was so well behaved all day!

Delaney had to sit next to Ryan while we ate. She was so cute with him. I know she loved being the big kid for once. They cracked each other up!

Ryan saw this crank and he had to try it out.

While everyone was in the bathroom I enjoyed my time alone with Braxton. He sure is my sweet boy!

Our family favorites were the seals in the outdoor exhibit. They were quite active. The baby kept playing with a leaf that had fallen in the water. So cute!

My kids had a blast at the zoo. I am so blessed to be their mom!

Delaney was thrilled that we got to see the flamingos twice since they are near the entrance. Look how small Ryan is compared to my kids.

If you are ever in Saint Paul, MN you must check out this darling zoo.
