Day 1: The half of the day included horseback-riding in the morning, packing for our trip and lots of waiting for Hotch to come home from work.
Over the last month we planned this trip and decided to keep it a total secret. Since they had no idea where we were going the suspense was driving them crazy! All day they were counting down the hours and minutes. When it was finally time to leave they were so excited!
After driving for about 4 1/2 hours we stopped in Asheville, NC to eat dinner. Unbeknownst to us we were about to experience the feeling of being under dressed and feeling completely out of place at McDonald's. Yes, I know what you're thinking. How could you possibly be under dressed at McDonald's of all places? The McDonald's near the Biltmore Mansion is ridiculously posh. We were so out of place in our comfy traveling clothes.
Braxton got a little laser light thing and Delaney envied him for the rest of the trip because she only got a pink bag.
Wish I took a picture of the Women's bathroom. It was so nice. Love the faux tin ceiling. There was a fireplace and a player piano or pianola that played music the entire time we were there.
It was nice to stretch and get out of the caravan for a while, but we were all anxious to get to the hotel that night.
You might be wondering where we went next. Somewhere on the other side of this tunnel is your answer, but we'll save that until tomorrow's posts.
Looks like an awesome start for an adventure.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun day watching the kids get more excited as the day wore on.
